In the city of Detroit, there are many entrepreneurs who have taken their love for the city and turned it into a successful business. One such entrepreneur is Chris W. ,the founder of YHMN (The smell of Detroit) - a company that specializes in a handmade Fragrance inspired by the city of Detroit.

Chris’s love for Detroit started at a young age, he would attend Tigers and Lions Games wearing his favorite Detroit teams everywhere he went! Listening to Blade Icewood and the chedda BOYZ always wearing a Detroit Hat and Cartiers. He was fascinated by the history and culture of Detroit, and knew that he wanted to create a product that represented the city in a meaningful way.

Through hard work and determination, Chris was able to turn his passion into a thriving business. He started by creating his own music & fragrance and using his home as his workshop. He would sell his Fragrance at local markets POPUP’s and events, slowly building a following and gaining recognition for his unique product. Eventually, he was able to join forces with multiple storefronts in the heart of Detroit city.

What sets The smell of Detroit apart from other cologne and perfume companies is the way that his fragrance is inspired by a different aspect of the city. In Detroit it’s very Tough getting a crowd to support, the mentality is dog eat dog. So in the beginning things were rocky but who can deny a good smell and Drive. Once the city approved it everything was up from there! Bossy Exquisite Elegant are just a few words that describe a Real Detroit Person. And this is the smell behind it all.

But The smell of Detroit isn't just about creating a great smelling cologne. Chris also sees his business as a way to shift the mindset of the city.
